With a large concentration of metalworking companies, Etowah County has been an industrial center of Alabama since the nineteenth century. The county is home to the city of Gadsden, Noccalula Falls and Jacksonville State University. Located in northeast Alabama, Etowah is one of the most densely populated counties in the state with more than 102,000 residents.
